These Terms and Conditions govern the manner in which a Member may collect and spend points on Air Baltic Corporation AS (hereinafter – airBaltic) flights.
PINS.CO (creator and maintainer of airBaltic Club loyalty program) and airBaltic act in good faith and reserve the right to modify or supplement these Terms and Conditions whenever such changes are considered necessary. The current Terms and Conditions available on this website are the most recent and valid. These Terms and Conditions are binding on all Members.
Definitions
AirBaltic Club program – loyalty program of airBaltic, created and maintained by PINS.CO.
Member – a person who is a member of the airBaltic Club program and whose name appears on the airBaltic Club membership account and who has been assigned a membership number. Only a member of the program is entitled to benefit from the services and benefits proposed in the program.
AirBaltic Club Executive – member or Executive member is a member of airBaltic Club, who during the term of one year has made 30 one-way flights with airBaltic, thus receiving the status of an Executive member, which is subject to all the rules applicable to airBaltic Club members, unless otherwise specified.
AirBaltic Club VIP – member or VIP member is a member of airBaltic Club, who during the term of one year has made 60 one-way flights with airBaltic, thus receiving the status of a VIP member, which is subject to all the rules applicable to airBaltic Club members, unless otherwise specified. VIP member is entitled to decline the receipt or granting of the VIP status at its discretion.
Points – units of reward accounting for flying airBaltic credited to members of the program pursuant to these Terms and Conditions.
Reward points – points that can be exchanged for a reward flight, hotel accommodation, car hire and other services offered as part of the airBaltic Club program described in Article 3Â
Membership level – a member’s status level in the program (i.e. Club, Executive or VIP), which is determined by the number of flights taken (except reward flights) with airBaltic (except reward flights) within one year and which grants additional benefits and privileges. Membership level benefits on flights operated by airBaltic are provided if the airBaltic Club membership number is entered in the reservation.
Reward flight – the name of a flight paid for with reward points.
Upgrade reward – a reward that upgrades to a class of travel one level higher than the class booked with the paid ticket.
Booking – a record in the database of a computer reservation system that contains the itinerary for a passenger, or a group of passengers traveling together.
Electronic ticket – the itinerary/receipt issued by airBaltic or on behalf of airBaltic, the electronic coupons and, if applicable, a boarding document.
Member service – airBaltic Club member service, providing customer support and a range of services under the program.
AirBaltic Club communication media – collective name for the means of communication used in the program (i.e. website, newsletters, in-flight magazine, application forms, brochures, letters, etc.).
airBaltic Club – a passenger loyalty program operated by airBaltic, the membership of which is divided in three levels and is subject to airBaltic Club policy published on the website of airBaltic, as amended from time to time.
1. Collecting points on airBaltic flights
1.2. The number of points credited for airBaltic direct flights depend on the price (which includes ticket fare, taxes and surcharges) and class of travel. For avoidance of doubt, ticket issued on airBaltic stock, but operated by other carrier, for example code-share flight, will not qualify for points.Â
1.2. A Club member receives 1 (one) point per 1 (one) euro spent when purchasing a GREEN type flight ticket, or 1 (one) point per 1 (one) euro spent + 50 bonus points when purchasing a GREEN Plus type flight ticket, 1 (one) point per 1 (one) euro spent + 100 bonus points when purchasing a GREEN Classic type flight ticket and 1 (one) point per 1 (one) euro spent + 200 bonus points when purchasing a Business class flight ticket.
1.3. An Executive member receives 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent when purchasing a GREEN type flight ticket, or 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent + 50 bonus points when purchasing an GREEN Plus type flight ticket, 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent + 100 bonus points when purchasing an GREEN Classic type flight ticket and 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent + 200 bonus points when purchasing a Business class flight ticket.
1.4. A VIP member receives 3 (one) points per 1 (one) euro spent when purchasing a GREEN type flight ticket, or 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent + 50 bonus points when purchasing an GREEN Plus type flight ticket, 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent + 100 bonus points when purchasing an GREEN Classic type flight ticket and 3 (three) points per 1 (one) euro spent + 200 bonus points when purchasing a Business class flight ticket. If a VIP status member has booked an airBaltic operated flight ticket within a group booking, he/she is eligible to transport 1 piece of special equipment free of charge.
1.5. Points are credited to the member’s account for each actually flown segment of a fully paid scheduled flight by airBaltic. Members receive points on airBaltic flights from the date of enrolment in the airBaltic Club program.
1.6. To receive points for airBaltic flights flown, reservations must be made under the member's name exactly as the member's name appears on the account. Any discrepancy may delay or void the receipt of points. Only the person named on the airBaltic Club account who actually flies can receive points, even if the travel is purchased by someone else.
1.7. airBaltic may from time to time offer bonus points for various activities or eligible purchases. These offers may be temporary by nature. airBaltic reserves the right to modify or cancel such offers at any time.
1.8. Points are not credited on reward flights.
1.9. Points cannot be collectedfor code-share flights:
   • if a ticket is purchased from airBaltic, but the flight is operated by a different airline (also when the flight code begins with "BT" on the ticket)
   • if a ticket is purchased through the system of a different airline, but the flight is operated by airBaltic.
1.9.1. Similarly, points are not granted for charter and commercial flights.
1.9.2. You can earn points only for booking regular flights operated by airBaltic with a ticket number 657-xxxxxxxx.
1.10. Members receive points for additional products or services purchased together with the flight ticket including, without limitation, the following: checked baggage, inflight meals, advance seat reservation, upgrade to business class, fast track, priority check-in. This applies to ancillary products bought on airBaltic website only.
1.11. Certain travel is not eligible for collecting points. This includes, without limitation, the following: all travel purchased with points (reward flights, upgrade rewards), free ticket promotions including free or reduced rate travel, non-revenue travel, charter flights, travel agency/industry reduced rate travel, unpublished fares, travel subject to special provisions, and services for which the member receives benefits under another bonus program, for others flying with the member (even if the member has paid for their ticket).
1.12. Points will not be credited for unused, cancelled, forfeited, refunded or fraudulent travel bookings. Members may collect points for multiple seats purchased for them on a single flight.
1.13. If a member is transferred to another airBaltic flight or other airline, which differs from the original airBaltic issued ticket, points received on the resulting flight will be credited to the member’s account. In this case, member is required to contact airBaltic Club member service with the original flight details, along with a copy of the old and new ticket details. Please note: airBaltic will not credit points for original flights if the passenger is transferred for the following reasons - natural disasters/disruption, weather, fire, strikes, war, civil unrest and closed airports or airspaces.
1.14. In the case of flight cancellations due to factors beyond airBaltic’s control, including but not limited to weather conditions, labor disputes or security reasons, points will not be credited to a member’s account.
1.15. Reward flights do not count toward tier status.
1.16. Exclusions from earning points on airBaltic services are subject to change at airBaltic absolute discretion.
2. Crediting procedure and claiming missing points
2.1. Automatic crediting of points to a member’s account is only possible if the member quotes his/her airBaltic Club membership number or shows his/her card when checking in for the flight. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that the membership number is provided at the time of making a reservation and while checking in.
2.2. Points will be credited to a member’s account only upon the completion of the flight.
2.3. Points are credited to a member’s account based on the amount spent in EUR (euros) using the Amadeus exchange rate on the ticket issuance date.
2.4. In the case of other airlines' flight segments booked in connection with airBaltic flights, points will be credited only for airBaltic operated segments.
2.5. Any points not automatically registered can be credited to the member’s account within 6 months after the flight date, but not earlier than 10 days after the flight. For newly enrolled members, points can be registered for journeys that took place up to 30 days prior to enrolment.
2.6. Missing points can be claimed online by filling in a retro claim form at retroclaim.pinsforme.com.
2.7. While airBaltic makes every attempt to provide accurate points crediting, it is the member’s responsibility to retain the necessary documents such as boarding passes and passenger receipts required to claim missing points.
2.8. airBaltic is not responsible for any claims for points that have been delayed, or lost, or for any claims that the airBaltic Club member service doesn't receive.
2.9. It may take up to ten days for points to be credited to a member’s account, once PINS.CO has all the information. Members can't redeem these points for rewards until they have been credited to a member’s account.
2.10. PINS.CO reserves the right to retrospectively adjust a member’s account in the event of incorrect entries due to mistake or otherwise.
2.11. Any attempt by a member to collect points with the same boarding pass on more than one occasion with different carriers will constitute a breach of this agreement, and the termination provisions in Article 5 will apply.
2.12. Bonus points from special campaigns or promotions during the retroclaim period are not credited to member’s account and member is eligible to receive only regular points per EUR spent.
3. Spending points on airBaltic flights
3.1. Reward flights are available for scheduled flights operated by airBaltic. Requests and bookings relating to reward flights fully paid with points can be made via airBaltic Club member service. Reward flights can only be requested by the member who holds the account. Reward flights can be issued to any name requested. Flight ticket may be e-mailed only to the e-mail address indicated by the member.
3.2. Children (from 2 to 11 (including) years of age) and infants (less than 2 years of age) who require their own seat will be charged 75 (seventy five) percent of the points required for the reward flight. Infants, if they do not have their own seat, travelling with a member on a reward flight, will travel for 10 (ten) percent of the points required for the member's reward flight. Unaccompanied children require a full price ticket. One-way and round-trip reward flight tickets can be issued. Open tickets cannot be issued as rewards. For return journeys, outbound and return flights must be booked at the same time. Travel to one destination from a point of origin and returning from another city of the same country to the same point of origin (or vice versa) is permitted. Special rules regarding a stopover may apply.
3.3. Reward flight bookings may be made up to 361 days prior to departure but no less than three weekdays prior to departure. During this period, airBaltic makes some seats available for reward flight bookings on all routes operated by airBaltic on some flights in each direction for each week of operation throughout the year. The total number of reward flight seats available will vary from route to route.
3.4. Members are advised to make reward bookings well in advance (recommended 3-7 months in advance) of the date of travel, however, airBaltic cannot guarantee that a member will be able to make a reward flight booking on any specific flight regardless of the time of booking.
3.5. A reward flight ticket is issued within 24 hours after the booking is made if a member has fulfilled all the requirements mentioned in clause 3.6. If a member has not fulfilled all the necessary requirements mentioned in Clause 3.6, the reservation is permanently cancelled and the points spent for the reservation are not refunded.
3.6. Members will be liable for all taxes and other charges associated with reward flight travel on airBaltic, including without limitation, airport departure tax, customs fines, immigration fees, airport charges, customer user fees, service fee, fuel surcharges, security and insurance surcharge or other incidental fees or taxes charged by any person or relevant authority or body. All taxes and surcharges must be paid within 24 hours after a reservation is made.
3.7. Date and time changes to a reward flight are free of charge before the issue of the reward flight ticket. Once the reward flight ticket has been issued, rebooking is subject to the service charge.
3.8. For reward flight tickets, the following rules apply:
3.8.1. Booking is non-refundable.
3.8.2. Date, time and booking class changes are permitted for an additional fee of 70 EUR for a one-way flight, as well as covering the price difference between tickets.
3.8.3. Flight date/time changes are allowed up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure or the desired departure time, whichever is earlier.
3.8.4. Name change for reward flights is not allowed.
3.8.5. Economy class reward flights do not include free baggage transportation.
3.8.6. Business class reward flights include 2Â free baggage items up to 46Â kg altogether.
3.9. Reward flights are subject to airBaltic’s General Conditions of Carriage Passengers and Baggage, unless stated otherwise.
4. Upgrade rewards on airBaltic flights
4.1. Upgrade reward is available for scheduled flights operated by airBaltic.
4.2. Upgrade requests fully paid with points can be made via
electronic application form or
airBaltic Club member service. Upgrade reward can only be requested by the member who holds the account. Upgrade reward can be issued to any name requested. Upgrade documents may be e-mailed only to the e-mail address indicated by the member.
4.3. Upgrade may be requested up to 361 days prior to departure but no less than three weekdays prior to departure. The number of seats available will vary from route to route.
4.4. An upgraded flight ticket is issued within 24 hours after the request is made.
4.5. Upgrade for children and infants must be paid fully.
4.6. For reward upgrade tickets, the following rules apply:
4.6.1. The point price is fixed and is independent of the actual ticket price.
4.6.2. Upgraded flights do not count toward tier status.
4.6.3. Upgraded flights are not applicable for point accrual.
4.6.4. Airport taxes, service fee and ancillary items (such as bags, meal on board, insurance) must be covered separately.
4.6.5. Business class services available with this ticket: business class check-in, fast track security check, access to Business lounge and business class baggage allowance.
4.6.6. Upgrade reward is not available on those routes where Business class tickets are not available.
4.6.7. Tickets are subject to airBaltic’s General Conditions of Carriage Passengers and Baggage, including name/date/time changes, unless stated otherwise.
4.7. Name/time/date changes in the ticket are according to the original ticket fare rules.
4.8. airBaltic reserves the right to revise, amend or modify the amount of points required for point upgrade.
5. Misuse
5.1. Sale, exchange, offer to auction or any other kind of commercial transaction with third parties involving reward documents is strictly prohibited, unless specifically allowed. It is also strictly prohibited to arrange the purchase or sale of points or rewards, transfer of points , unauthorized purchase of points , or to make unauthorized use of rewards or reward documents. All such cases are classified below as misuse. Such activity is prohibited and may result in the denial of travel and/or redemption of the reward, and may also result in the cancellation of all collected points , rewards and program membership without any compensation and/or loss reimbursement from airBaltic.
5.2. In the event that rewards are released in exchange for points acquired by misuse, airBaltic reserves the right to demand compensation in the place of the points required for releasing the reward, insofar as the point balance, excluding the points acquired by misuse, is not sufficient to release the reward. The amount of compensation per point is calculated based on the applicable point purchase price for the highest scale value at the time of the damaging event. airBaltic also reserves the same right in the event that the airBaltic Club account has a negative balance in other cases of misuse, as well as unsanctioned conduct by the member. The member has the right to prove that he/she has caused no or only minor loss.
5.3. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions or other requirements contained on the airBaltic website (www.airbaltic.com) may result in the denial of travel and/or redemption of rewards and the cancellation of all points, rewards and program membership.
6. Termination of program
6.1. airBaltic do not guarantee that airBaltic Club program will continue indefinitely.
6.2. airBaltic may terminate its participation in airBaltic Club program (and the Terms and Conditions). airBaltic will give members at least 90 days’ notice of termination of airBaltic Club program. Notice of termination will be posted on the airBaltic website and sent:
6.2.1. to the email address specified in the member’s loyalty account; or
6.2.2. if no valid email address is held by airBaltic Club program, to the postal address specified in the member’s loyalty account.
6.3. Once notice of termination has been given, members may not redeem points for any flights scheduled to depart after the notice period expires.
6.4. Any points that are not redeemed during the 90 day notice period will be forfeited and members will have no claim against airBaltic and/or PINS.CO for any forfeited points.
7. Contact between airBaltic and members
7.1. Where airBaltic must give a member notice concerning airBaltic Club program or termination of the airBaltic Club program, airBaltic will be taken to have given the member that notice if airBaltic:
7.2. give that notice in any way permitted by the Terms and Conditions; or
7.3. send the member a communication to email address specified in the member’s loyalty account. Members will be responsible if they do not receive a communication from airBaltic because the member’s personal information is not up to date.
7.4. airBaltic and members agree that email will satisfy any requirement for written communication.
8. Law and jurisdiction
8.1. These Terms and Conditions and the relationship between airBaltic and each member are governed by Latvian law. In joining the program, member agrees to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Latvian Courts.
8.2. If in any jurisdiction, the program, the issue of points or the redemption of any reward is unlawful, then to the extent that the laws of that jurisdiction are applicable, the issue or redemption of points or rewards and any related documents are void.
8.3. In the case of differences of interpretation, the English version will prevail.
